On one hand, disaster, on the other opportunity.
How do funeral service professionals view this economic storm? Do they wonder how their funeral home can stay afloat in these turbulent economic waters, or go under like the Titanic. Funeral directors are experts at weathering economic typhoons and tornadoes. In my lifetime, I have seen them survive three major disasters, and come out better because of them.

Autoren-Porträt von Tom Lord
Tom Lord is a third generation funeral service professional. He has helped many families plan meaningful life appreciation services for their loved ones. His commitment was always do everything for those he served as if the deceased were his own mother, father, wife or child. He organized and worked with many grief recovery support groups in Central Maine.
Tom was a pioneer in teaching CPR. He once wrote that he was teaching the "stuff" before they knew what to call it. He was the first American Red Cross Instructor Trainer for CPR and Advanced First Aid in the state. He introduced medical oxygen and two way radio communications for ambulance service in his area.
He founded and managed a volunteer food pantry, serving seven towns during an economic depression. He also implemented a disaster plan used as a model by many Maine towns in preparation for Y2K.
Tom is a committed Christian. He enjoys teaching Sunday School and writing. He often hikes and canoes with his wife Louise.
