Miriam R. Malaquias is a native of Tanzania presently living in the United States. Miriam's cooking took a turn when she decided to create a website in 2004 to share recipes with friends and family. In 1990 Miriam found herself missing her country's food while a student in Canada. She had no choice but to start to collect home recipes from her mother and family. Every trip back home included cooking classes from neighbors, friends and family. She did more research about Swahili culture and food. All that was just for fun and to help her to keep her culture. Few years later the world started to show interest on African cuisine. Miriam decided to use printing as another way of sharing her recipes.
