Cynthia Korzekwa is an artist originally from Texas who now lives the winters in Rome and the summers on the island of Paros. Because of her environmental concerns, she began the blog "Art for Housewives", now in its twelfth year, with the intent of encouraging women to make things as a form of meditation and of recycling. Aside from painting and drawing, Korzekwa is the designer behind Muy Marcottage, a collection of narrative clothing . For many years she taught art in the United States as well as at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Rome and Florence. Korzekwa is also the author of "Excerpts From Diary Pages 1994-1995" (hand colored computer drawings with text relevant to the female psyche) and "Arte per Massaie" (an illustrated essay that offers ideas as to how household trash can be recuperated to make beautiful and useful objects). This author and artist is currently preparing another illustrated publication based on huipiles, the Mayan blouse that was so popular with Frida Kahlo.
