Nevertheless, Michael's determination is what drives him on or, as some would argue, over the cliff into a 'changed world' where he must sink before he can swim and whose depth is way beyond his initial expectations. 'Changing Worlds' was John O'Loughlin's first full-time literary commitment, and the reader must judge for himself as to whether or not the change was for the better.
