However, the arrival of John Masters, a new psychiatrist from the UK, offers a glimmer of hope of rescuing Eddy from his continuing nightmare.

Specialising in hypnotherapy, John delves into the trauma of the man's childhood, hoping to release the demons ensnaring Eddy. As he does so, he stumbles on an amazing, life changing coincidence.

But John's utopian dream with a love affair, a new apartment and new car is sullied by false accusations by an investigative reporter. Dark clouds of drugs, violence, corruption and murder further blot out the sun from his new paradise.

The author is a prolific writer, a student of Bristol University. Paul has written a raft of novels and 'Eddy - The Lost Years' is Paul's tenth novel. Previous novels include four books in the 'Godsons' series about a millionaire tracking down his Godsons and challenging them to improve their idle lives in order to inherit their legacy when he dies. A tense love triangle story about a cuckolded IED expert defusing a WW2 unexploded bomb to release his trapped love rival. Two humorous novels about a hapless individual, Gurney Leafmould and his crazy adventures, firstly as a failed DIY practitioner and then unwittingly exposing a government secret organisation, the Ministry of Disruption. 'Vigilante Nurse' relays the tale of A and E nurses dishing out punishment to miscreants who hide behind the efforts of an inept police force and who shelter one of their own domestic abusers.
In addition to writing novels, Paul has written stage and radio plays which have been performed and recorded by a local drama group and broadcast on the Internet. The myriad topics have included 'Forget Me Not,' the intense thoughts of a dying dementia patient, 'Together Forever,' the tragedy of two brothers trapped in a flooded coal pit and 'Mountain Heir' a mountaineer overcoming his self-doubts being overwhelmed by the shadow of his successful father's reputation.
