General History of Disasters in China: Volumes of the Qin and Han Dynasties mainly introduces the situations of various natural disasters in the Qin and Han Dynasties (221-220 B.C.) in China and related thoughts on disasters and disaster relief measures.This volume is divided into six chapters.Chapter I Introduction mainly introduces the status of research on the history of disasters in the Qin and Han Dynasties of the academic circles at present and the conception of this book; Chapter II introduces the temporal and spatial distribution of various disasters such as flood, drought, locust plague, earthquake, pestilence, wind damage, hail disaster, cold disaster and fire disaster in the Qin and Han Dynasties and corresponding prevention and rescue measures; Chapter III introduces the general characteristics and causes of disasters in the Qin and Han Dynasties; Chapter IV introduces several popular thoughts on disasters in the Qin and Han Dynasties; Chapter V introduces the disaster prevention and relief measures in the Qin and Han Dynasties; Chapter VI introduces the disaster relief system in the Qin and Han Dynasties, including relevant governmental agencies and their operation and supervision system.On the basis of previous scholars' research, this volume reanalyzes, sorts out and makes statistics of the historical data on disasters in the Qin and Han Dynasties, especially makes a systematic and in-depth study of thoughts on disasters, disaster relief measures and disaster relief system, and is of certain reference value for relevant researchers.
