Myint Win Bo, Ph.D., is President and Chief Executive Officer of Bo & Associates Inc., an engineering services firm specializing in geotechnical, environmental, and geological engineering, hydrogeology, and material testing. Dr. Bo is also an adjunct professor for several universities, including York University and Toronto Metropolitan University, where he has supervised research students for many years. He is an experienced practicing engineer, geologist, environmentalist, scientist, and entrepreneur as well as an educator who has worked around the world in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. He graduated with a BSc in geology from the University of Yangon (Rangoon), received a Postgraduate Diploma in hydrogeology from University College London, UK, and an MSc from the University of London, UK. He obtained his Ph.D. in civil engineering (specializing in geotechnics) from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a Certificate of Executive Management and Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Dr. Bo is a Fellow of the Geological Society, London, UK, and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), UK, and has been serving professional societies at both national and international levels for many years and has presented more than 40 special and keynote lectures and workshops at international conferences, tertiary institutions, and professional associations. He is the author of five books, five book chapters, and more than 200 technical papers in international journals and conferences. Dr. Bo is an Editor for five international journals, including Environmental Geotechnics and Geotechnical Research, both published by the ICE, UK. His works have been cited more than 5,500 times in refereed journals and proceedings. Dr. Bo is a winner of more than $1 million in research grants and a winner of many awards for personal achievements as well as designing many award-winning projects around the world.
