Autoren-Porträt
Don Mulcahy, born in Clydach, Wales, and a Canadian citizen since 1969, lives in Strathroy, Ontario, where he writes poetry, prose, book reviews and newspaper articles following an academic career in dentistry. His work has appeared in a variety of journals includingThe Prairie Journal, Matrix, Coffee House Poetry (U.K.), iota (U.K.), Verse Afire, fait accomplit, blood ink, Tower Poetry, the Antigonish ReviewandVallum, as well as in the anthologiesButterfly Thunder, Sounding the Seconds, Ascent Aspirations, the Voices Israel 2013 Poetry Anthology, Ekphrastia Gone Wild (U.S.)and“Writing After Retirement” (U.S.).In 2014 he published a political critique titled “Bogus Democracy”. He has written occasional columns for a rural newspaper, and is a book reviewer forNinnau, the Welsh-American quarterly.Writer, editor, translator, publisher, filmmaker, Antonio D’Alfonso is the author of over 30 books. His novel Un vendredi du mois d’août won the Trillium Award in 2005. His feature film Bruco won best director award and best foreign film award at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 2010. His most recent film Antigone (an adaptation of Sophocles’ play) won the Bronze award at the Prestige Film Festival. Aside from his own award-winning writing, he has translated some of Quebec’s finest poets.
