Professor Fredric W.H. Myers (1843-1901) was both a psychologist and classical lecturer at Cambridge University. His scholarship on Virgil was widely recognized, and he served for many years as Professor of Classics at Cambridge. An essayist and poet, his works included; St Paul (1867), Essays, Classical and Modern (1883), Phantasms of the Living, by Gurney, Myers and Podmore (1886) and Human Personality and Its Survival of Bodily Death (published posthumously in 1903).
