The poems within are snippets of imaginery conversations that I should've, but never had with my family members through the many years of my deviant behavior that led to my repeated incarcerations. It was only when I confronted my conscience through poetry that I was able to change my attitude, values, and behavior. Through these changes I find myself hopefully empowering the next generation.
Autoren-Porträt von Charles William Jr.
I was born in Harlem Hospital, but raised in The Marcy Housing projects (Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Currently, I'm residing in East Elmhurst, Queens. Both my mother(WillieMae) and my sister(Julie) were avid readers and writers. which definitely had a positive affect on me, especially between the fourth and fifth grades in my early development of public school. It was during those years when I first noticed I was developing a commandof both reading and speaking English, and was subsequently called upon to read aloud by both my teachers and peers)
For decades I went to the School of Hard Knocks(SOHK) and as a result of such ended up in the penal system through decades of incarceration, while in prison, walls grew between me and my family. The psychological damage behind incarceration runs not only deep, but often times leaves permanent scars. Thus, here's my catharsis of how I was able to change through poetry and leave my nightmares behind.
