Ricardo Gandour is a Brazilian journalist and professor of journalism at ESPM in São Paulo. Was a visiting researcher at Columbia Journalism School in New York (USA). Holds a master's degree in Communication Sciences from Escola de Comunicações e Artes at University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). Holds specialization degrees in Publishing (Stanford University), Advanced Management (Fundação Dom Cabral/Insead) and Business Administration (FGV-SP). Is a member of the board of directors of Instituto Palavra Aberta and Columbia Global Center Brazil. Holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (USP-São Carlos) and graduated in Journalism at Fundação Cásper Líbero. His first steps as a journalist were taken in the weekly newspaper A Tribuna, which was published by his father in Nova Granada in São Paulo State. His career took off at the daily newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, where he worked as a reporter and editor. He then became the founding director of Publifolha. At the publishing house Editora Globo, he was director of publications and director of Época weekly magazine. He was also executive director of the daily newspaper Diário de S.Paulo and subsequently worked as content director for Grupo Estado, where he was in charge of the newsrooms of the newspapers O Estado de S. Paulo and Jornal da Tarde and the radio stations Eldorado/Estadão and Broadcast. Gandour was also director of Rádio CBN.
