Produktinformationen zu „Matrix and Finite Element Analyses of Structures (PDF)“
This textbook has been primarily written for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students studying the mechanics of solids and structural systems. The content focuses on matrix, finite elements, structural analysis, and computer implementation in a unified and integrated manner. Using classical methods of structural analysis, it discusses matrix and the finite element methods in an easy-to-understand manner. It consists of a large number of diagrams and illustrations for easy understanding of the concepts. All the computer codes are presented in "FORTRAN" AND "C". This textbook is highly useful for the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students. It also acquaints the practicing engineers about the computer-based techniques used in structural analysis.
Autoren-Porträt von Madhujit Mukhopadhyay, Abdul Hamid Sheikh
Prof. Madhujit Mukhopadhyay is former Dean (Faculty and Planning) and Professor of Structural Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He was also a visiting professor in Delft University and the University of Southampton. In his early days he also spent a significant time as a researcher in the University of Glasgow. He obtained his B.E. degree from the University of Calcutta (IIEST) and the Ph.D. and the D.Sc. degrees from IIT Kharagpur. His area of interest lies in research in application of various numerical methods for the analysis of plates and shells, bare or stiffened, isotropic or orthotropic. He has published a large number of papers in international journals in aerospace, civil, mechanical, and ocean engineering besides authoring three textbooks.Dr. Abdul Hamid Sheikh is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide in Australia. He was previously a faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He obtained the B.E. and M.E. degrees from University of Calcutta(IIEST), India, and Ph.D. degree from IIT Kharagpur. His research interest lies in finite element and other numerical techniques and their applications to different types of analyses for stiffened plates and shells, composite and smart laminates and allied problems. He has published a large number of papers in leading journals of national and international repute.
