Produktinformationen zu „NG173: A Brand of Racism (ePub)“
Most of the world knows about the six million Jewish people that were exterminated by the German Government during World War I, but many people do not know that the Nazis also persecuted black German children by arresting, branding and castrating them. Samuel was a black U.S. soldier stationed in Germany after World War I who fell in love with Ingrid, a young German woman. This book is about the tragedies resulting from Samuel's quest for racial equality, his forbidden love with Ingrid, and racism by Nazis and Americans.
About the author: Donald English is a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant who served honorably in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He grew up in a small coal mining town near Gary, West Virginia with his fourteen siblings during the Great Depression. At the age of 17, he enlisted in a segregated Air Force to find a better life and to support his family. During his career, he was stationed all over the world, including Germany. He started writing NG173 nearly 40 years ago after learning about the struggles of black Germans in Nazi Germany. This book is the result of decades of his research about those black Germans and a lifetime of his experience as a black American.
