Though not a scientist, Fischlowitz has had a life-long interest in the ways scientific and technical innovations affect our culture and our daily lives. He has written books of poetry, short stories, and a biography of his wife, a child Holocaust survivor. He is now retired in Honolulu, HI.

Merle has previously published poetry, short stories, and biography. The motivation of this book is to get the youngest generation to be aware of the changes in technology as they mature.
