Since I was very young, I have seen and experienced difficult times in my life but always managed to deal with them as there usually was no other choice. At the age of six, I hit rock bottom and learned that there really was a God and he became my best friend, which helped me throughout my life to never give up or to feel alone.
I considered it a privilege to be called on to perform a certain, sometimes even arduous job, both in my private life, my employment, or in any of my appointed positions; finding out that accomplishing positive results, after giving it your best effort, is the greatest form of satisfaction. It also taught me that if I wanted something bad enough, I could find a way to achieve it.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone along my way throughout the years of my lifebut it has perpetually been my aspiration to treat others as I would like to be treated myself.

Autoren-Porträt von Ingrid Radke-Azvedo
Since she was a child in war-torn Germany, the author had a dream that someday, in her improbable future, she would find a way to start a new life in the United States of America. She realized that dream in 1958 when Mr. Bob Gibson, of Gibson Wine Company in Elk Grove, California, offered to become her legal sponsor; he also saw to it that she would have a job upon arrival. In those days, it was required that immigrants had to have proof of employment upon entering the United States and produce a green card when hired to that position.Throughout the years, she discovered that ordinary citizens had a voice in the future of America. Soon she became a volunteer in political organizations—these opportunities would have never been available for an average citizen in Germany. After becoming an American citizen, she found herself welcomed to various associations. She has over thirty years of political and business experience, served as a delegate to five national party conventions and as a presidential elector for her state. Appointments included Federal Council on the Aging (chairman) and member of the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CA); both of these needed Senate confirmations.
She has planned and organized countless rallies, conventions, dinners, and seminars. As a popular speaker, she covers many subjects like Americanism, our precious Constitution, and Bill of Rights; her childhood experiences, our valiant Veterans, and her love and gratitude toward the Veterans of the Western Allies who through the greatest humanitarian effort in world history stood up against the Soviet power and supplied Berlin with food and coal.
She is a proud American citizen blessed with three sons, their wives, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and has resided in Elk Grove since 1958.
