Cheryl S. Ntumy is a Ghanaian writer who grew up in Botswana and studied in South Africa for several years. She has been writing stories for as long as she can remember, dabbling in everything from novels and short stories to comic books, newspaper and magazine articles and plays. Her first novel, Crossing, was published in Botswana in 2010. The novel won first prize in the Bessie Head Literature Awards (2009). Over the years Cheryl has been involved in several literary initiatives in Botswana, facilitating writing workshops and mentoring new writers. She is a co-founder of The Reading Space, a Botswana-based project which aims to promote literacy and local literature. Her upcoming projects include a speculative fiction series and speculative short stories. Since her debut novel in 2010, Cheryl has published several more books, including the Conyza Bennett trilogy.She also writes a blog, where she posts essays and short fiction. Beauty and the Broker was her first of five romance novels published by Kwela Books’s Sapphire Press.
Tshego Monaisa has worked in the TV industry as a Drama Commissioning Editor for the SABC and Executive Producer at e.tv’s Local Productions. Her portfolio included overseeing flagship programming. Tshego is currently an independent Screenwriter, and has written for local sitcoms, such as SABC 2’s Ga re dumele, SABC 1’s My Perfect Family,
Single Guyz and Single Girlz, as well as Mzansi Magic’s daily drama Isibaya and SABC 3’s Isidingo. She is currently Head
Writer on SABC’s upcoming educational drama Mopani. Tshego has written two romance novels, Poetry of Love and Three Dates, both published by Kwela Books’s Sapphire Press.
Mokopi Shale is a Creative Producer with a degree in industrial psychology from Rhodes University. It was through her radio drama acting that she was presented with an opportunity to become a television presenter, and later an Associate Producer for Take 5.
