It had been years since the Great War had finally come to an end, an end so many had thought would be the beginning of their freedom, the freedom they had fought so hard to haveonly to be rudely awakened by Draculas's return.
After his exile, Prince Draculas fled the common lands, the same he had terrorized during his reign. But the revolt led by a simple man they called Kataff led to Draculas's ruin. And so it was for all these many quiet years, he conspired his revenge within the hushed folds of his banishment, seeking out in the dark lands of Tarkakk the Dragons, where they had been locked away for hundreds of years for mans protection. Learning, growing, plotting, Draculas dwelt with the dragons, drinking in their devilry and terrible bloodlust and assuming kingship over their kind; becoming a sorcerer of many powers at last, he is able to open again the gates that had been so well locked and, with all the abhorred powers to lead forward his army of dragons, unleashing over the earth the many strange spirits bred in hell, for hell's purpose. With his violent and terrible plans well set, Draculas and his dragon, Hogarth, hunt a particular people, a unique people named the Trinitie, for the elaborate mark of the greater kingdom Shorontoroth upon their arm.
For they, with their fire-born horses, the Trinitons, alone are able to withstand his powers and face him in battle, so destroying any and all that claim the signature of Shorontoroth. They are Draculas's and Hogarth's only fear while seeking dominion over the common lands. The Trinities, however, feel the spirit stirring, the flames of a brighter fire grow, issuing from their given marks as their Trinitons come to them, sensing the day growing close.
Brought by the dragons, met by man and his guard, the Trinitons, Shorontoroth is calling its own. Though many, only a few will be chosen to stand with the Trinitons and look to the hills against the evil that has rais ed its ugly head to take from them their very soul. War has again come, but this time, Shorontoroth has sent the Trinitons to aid man. And the poisonous fires of Draculas and Hogarth will be answered with the clap of thunder, the strike of lightning, and the beating of brimstone in Shorontoroth's reply.
That is probably one of the fondest memories I have from my childhood, and I believe where my spark for books and stories began.
Growing up, I had ten other siblings besides myself, so there were plenty of people to play with and bring to life whatever idea I created, from playing house inside while cleaning the kitchen to killing monsters outside with wooden swords when we were supposed to be stacking a wood pile.
I had tried many times to write my ideas down but had no patience for myself to write everything in my head down so quickly; my mother had then suggested I use the computer.
Now, up to that point in my thirteen-year-old opinion, the computer's sole purpose in life was for playing games. But slowly I discovered that it was much easier than using a pencil. I taught myself how to type and realized in that exciting moment that I finally had a tool that could keep up with my brain!
I wrote incessantly, every chance and opportunity I took, and found great delight in it. even more so when my siblings would come and read over my shoulder as I would type, sometimes laughing at whatever it might have been and other times nudging me when I would stop and say “Keep going!”
They were my biggest fans, and I'm thankful to be blessed with such a wildly beautiful family that to this day encourages me to continue writing with sometimes more enthusiasm for my creative writing than I sometimes have.
I enjoy writing and enjoy it even more when others have just as much fun reading them.
