Cheng F Lee is a Distinguished Professor in the Finance Department of the School of Business at Rutgers University and was chairperson of the Department from 1988–1995. He has also served on the faculty of the University of Georgia (1972–1976) and the University of Illinois (1976–1988). While at the University of Illinois, he was the IBE distinguished professor (1982–1988). He has maintained academic and consulting ties in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and the United States for the past decade. He has been a consultant to the American Insurance Group, the World Bank, the United Nations, The Marmon Group Inc., etc.Dr Lee has two masters degrees, one in statistics from West Virginia University and one in economics from National Taiwan University. His PhD in economics and finance is from the State University of New York at Buffalo, He founded the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting (RQFA) in 1990 and the Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies (RPBFMP) in 1997, and serves as managing editor for both journals. He was also a co–editor of The Financial Review (1985–1991) and the Quarterly Review of Economics and Business (1987–1989).
In the past ten years, Dr Lee has written five textbooks in addition to Statistics for Business and Financial Economics. The texts range in subject matter from corporate finance and urban econometrics to security analysis and the theory of financial analysis and planning.
During the past 25 years, Dr Lee has published more than 140 articles in more than 20 different finance, economics, statistics, and management journals including the Journal of Finance, Management Science, JASA, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, JFQA, Journal of Business, and the Journal of Econometrics. He uses statistics methodology and theory extensively in his research.

John has worked over 8 years in both the business and technical fields. He has worked as an accountant, auditor, systems analyst and as a business software developer. He is the author of the book on how to use MINITAB and Microsoft Excel to do statistical analysis which accompanies the textbook Statistics for Business and Financial Economics (first and second editions). Currently, John is a Senior Technology Officer at the Chase Manhattan Bank. He specializes in Microsoft Excel Applications.
Alice C Lee is currently a manager of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP, focusing on risk management. Her educational background includes a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and an MA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School of Business in Insurance and Risk Management.
Her professional experience includes working as a hardware engineer and a sales representative for Digital Equipment Corporation. Dr Lee was also a Visiting Assistant Professor of Insurance at the University of South Carolina and an Assistant Professor of Finance at Syracuse University. As a Senior Consultant for KPMG, LLP, her work included valuation and transfer pricing issues.
