As the Japan's historical war novels crated in 13th century, Stories of the Ping' s is widely known in Japan, renowned as one of the two peak work of classical literatures in Japan with Genshi monogatari. It mainly illustrates stories of Ping's led by Taira no Kiyomori. The first six volumes depicted the prosperous and luxury life of the Ping's while the last seven volumes depicted the process of war between two warrior groups: Yuan's and Ping's, rendering the tragic ending of termination of Ping's. The Stories of Ping's focuses on the central clue of the Ping's Group from prosperity to declining, artistically reproducing the declining of old aristocracy at the end of Heian Dynasty and replacement by emerging samurai class, which raise to the political stage, demonstrating the assimilation by aristocracy and merging by local samurai group with power. The artistic achievement of Stories of the Ping's is that it forges heroic figure that never appeared in the dynasty literature. The appearance of these figures marks the creation of new tradition in the Japanese classical literature, which is completely different from dynasty literature, bringing extremely profound meaning to later literary. Stories of the Ping's, in languages of Japanese and Chinese, are in grand artistic structure, elegant writing and profound meaning, not only reflecting the social life and ideology and culture in Japan in middle ages but also disclosing close connection with traditional ideology and culture in China.
