Autoren-Porträt von Reverend Marilyn Melin
About the AuthorThe Reverend Marilyn Melin is a retired Episcopal priest in the Chicago Diocese of
Illinois. Fifteen years ago she was stranded at a German airport due to a snow storm.
Her nephew, Harold, took her back to his home in Marbach, Gernany where the legend of the Tannenbaum started to grow. Rev. Melin was able to witness the legend unfold, as she watched her nephew's daughter, Kim Elisha, put the first Christmas ornament on the Tannenbaum to help Santa Claus. Reverend Melin also works with neglected and abused children for the Department of Children and Family Services 'in Illinois for the past 18 years.
About the Illustrator
Gabriella Apel is in seventh grade at St. Mary's Catholic School in Lake Forest Illinois.
She assisted her grandmother, Marilyn, by thinking of ideas of how to illustrate the Tannenbaum legend with drawings. An avid drawer Gabriella hopes someday to take art lessons and continue her journey in art.
