Produktinformationen zu „The Lonely Tumbling Waters (ePub)“
From infant memories in a heavily bombed post-war naval city, to the sudden upheaval and arrival in a resin-scented, traditional Highland glen, the boy experienced a steep learning curve. It was, however, to quickly become a part of his nature as he wandered alone, observing and empathising with the wild creatures then engaging in the manual skills of survival where technology was still a distant idea.
Biddable in behaviour because of childhood and army training, but a rebel by nature, the author wanders through his life experiences which would make Health and Safety quail and the politically correct throw up their hands in horror, but he has recorded the way of life in order that his grandchildren will have a history.

Autoren-Porträt von Ken Griffin
Born in the south of England during the last stages of World War Two, the author was raised in a Highland glen where his education on life, the three 'R's and nature began. After his army years which began at the age of fifteen, when he became a marksman and athlete, gaining his Pipe Majors qualification, he then went to work on Applecross Estate where he was invited into the deer stalking and management team. The latter half of his stalking vocation was spent as head stalker and he became one of the main contributors to Stalking Magazine during its life of sixteen years, assisting as an instructor on various deer courses. Now retired to a corner of the estate which had been virtually isolated for sixty years, he and his wife, Gwendy, have created, along with their neighbour, an 'oasis' for the smaller mammals and birds on an otherwise wild coastline. Their sustenance and way of life depends upon hard work and the perquisites rendered by nature. The Author still engages in deer watching and occasional management culling, but now mainly as a guest in the southern woodlands.
