Autoren-Porträt von John E. Moray
John E. Moray was born October 23, 1928. He started working in his father’s company, The Research Institute, a Utah Corporation, at the age of sixteen washing chemical glassware and doing odd jobs while being tutored by his father regarding his energy source, which he called Radiant Energy. His father was his hero. As long as he can remember, he was devoted to the idea that his father demonstrated there was energy throughout space. He was raised with the understanding that he would be the one to carry the work on.
He continued to work for the Research Institute during his college years. It was during this time he was called to serve a two-year mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. On his return, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and was shipped over seas towards the end of the Korean War. John retired from the Army Reserve as a full Colonel in 1983, having been credited with 10 ½ years active service with a total of 30 years Reserve service. He is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam War. He regrets that he never had a command in combat. He served as Aid De Camp to two Maj. Generals and was recognize for his ability in tactics. He received recognition for his ability to teach Corps operations by the Presidio USAR School
At the University of Utah John studied chemistry, physics, and pharmacy receiving a degree in Military Science and Tactics.
John has been active in Kiwanis International for 50 years. During that time, he served as District Governor for the Utah-Idaho District, 1991-92, and has served on a number of International committees.
In 1951, he became president of the Research Institute, retiring from this position in 1986.
He married Emma Lou Romney in December 1952 and they make their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have four children, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
He is presently commissionaire for the Murray Clan of Utah.
