Produktinformationen zu „Tripping in Public (ePub)“
Tripping in Public is an autobiography told in witticisms and reflections. Once a risk-averse wallflower, Rachel Boehm finally learned to love and trust herself and others after joining CrossFit and starting an e-commerce franchise–– paths she started on to heal herself. Her roles as athlete, coach, entrepreneur, and self-care advocate now allow her to pay-it-forward and empower others to heal themselves. Her journey to self-empowerment withered the wallflower. Today she is more like bamboo, or tries to be. (And clearly loves analogies, however confounding they may sometimes be.) Bamboo is slow to break through the earth, taking its time to develop roots that can support its future growth and adaptability. Learning to love and share with others your true self takes similar time and patience.
Autoren-Porträt von Rachel Boehm
Rachel Boehm is on a mission to help people smile when they look in the mirror. She owns a global e-commerce franchise with Rodan+Fields, which empowers individuals to improve the quality of their lives by putting their best face forward and/or bringing more money into their homes. She is a fitness, nutrition and behavior change coach, in Alexandria, Virginia; an award-winning writer and journalist, who previously covered state and federal legislation and regulations; culture feature stories; and international trade. In a previous decade she pursued a career in music, film, television and theater. Like many women and men who grew up in the "Snackwell Generation", she has battled eating disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, and low-self esteem. She has observed and experienced: industries that judge appearance over skill and organizations that treat employees like robots at worst, hired help at best. She has also experienced a growing tribe of men and women who reach down to lift up; who believe it doesn't matter where you come from, only where you want to go; and who know it truly takes a village to raise a healthy community. This book is dedicated to those tribes: My R+F Community and My CrossFit Community.
