Produktinformationen zu „Waves (ePub)“
The Waves is a work of Woolf in her period of great prosperity. It was published in 1931. This experimental work is highly poetic, abstract and stylized and has no proper stories. It is more like a music piece composing of nine movements: each primer is an exquisite prose poem with rise, fall and changes of the sun and waves corresponding to the ups and downs of life; each primer is followed by momentary internal monologues of six highly stylized characters without family names in their own corresponding life stages-from childhood, school days, youth, middle age to old age. The primers and the main bodies map each other, open up the unprecedented and nuanced channel for readers' sense and get close to the essence of life, time consciousness and feelings to the maximum extent. This is a work occupying an important position in the temple of modern literature. Up to this day, it still stirs our souls with its exquisite beyond compare text structure and poetic writing style.
