Wee Charles is on his way to see Grandma. He should be excited, but he can't help
wondering why Grandma is different these days - and why the drive is so slooowww.
Is it him, has he become boring? What were Grandma's four ways to stop that?
Hopefully the Flying Monkey Bird has the answers. No one but Wee Charles can see him..
so what else can't they see? When they arrive at Grandma's new home, all is revealed.
A wondrous window into time and how there are more ways to connect than with words.Wee Charles is a kind, curious boy with a stupendous imagination. Wee Charles and the Flying Monkey Bird is the third picture book of his adventures. As always, there is a unique aspect to his wanderings; and in this book it is how we deal with the change ageing brings to our loved ones. An increasingly common dilemma faced by adult children and their children, this book will touch anyone who is confronting these changes, and reframe it as part of life's journey. Each time the story is read, the provocative open-minded text and fanciful illustrations reward parents, carers, and children with multiple ways to discuss an important and challenging issue. But as well, when all that's needed is simply adventure and fun, Wee Charles' unique view of the world and the whimsical hidden details in the drawings can be enjoyed for themselves - over and over.
