When Panic Attacks Your Faith (ePub)

The church deals with a lot of issues on a spiritual level, and I believe as a Christian we need the Spirit of God to help us with all of the problems we face each day. There are thousands of Christians who suffer from mental illness such as panic attacks every day, but this issue is not a topic the church or most Christians are willing to talk about due to the stigma associated with mental illness. Panic attacks are real and can be debilitating to those who suffer daily. How do we deal with this issue? Is it spiritual or is it physical? What do we do when panic attacks our faith?

I remember when I experienced my first Panic Attack and I didn't have any idea what was going on with me at the time. Not long after, I began to experience these debilitating attacks four or five times a day and my life began to spiral out of control. There were days I couldn't get to work without an attack or get through my college classes without an attack. As a believer, my faith was being tested and I needed to be free of these attacks and get my life back but what do I do? Do I seek spiritual help or mental health help? I believe God can heal any sickness or disease and I believe he can do it in more than one way.
