The Pan American Health Organization alerted American citizens and the world in May 2015 concerning the Zika virus. This was after the confirmation of an infection from the virus in Brazil that was discovered around that same time. The disease caused by the Zika virus is known as Zika borrowing the name from the causing virus. Pan American Health Organization has indicated that one in every five people who get into contact with the virus will get sick. The Zika diseases remains highly undetectable due to the mildness of its symptoms explaining the reason why sometimes is not possible to detect the infection until the long term effects start to creep in.
