Among his other books are biographies of Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Robert Altman and James Cagney, along with the oral history Tender Comrades: A Backstory of the Holllywood Blacklist (with Paul Buhle). McGilligan lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
