If dentures are to contribute effectively to the functions of speech, dentists should utilize studies in the field of speech science, to augment their clinical knowledge of the phonetic factors in denture construction in order to replicate the natural pattern in an individual to produce the best and the clearest uninterrupted speech sounds in their clinical practice of complete dentures.
