Klappentext zu „Atmosphere-Vegetation-Soil Interactions “
This book covers the transport of heat and water in the entire continuum of soil, vegetation and lower atmosphere (as is relevant for instance for weather forecast models, hydrological models and climate models). It encompasses:the meteorology of the lower part of the atmosphere (micrometeorology, including in-depth treatment of similarity relationships),
transport processes inside of plants as well as the microclimate in vegetations,
the transport of energy, water and solutes in the soil
the interactions between the compartments,
application of the theory in the fields of crop water requirements, numerical weather prediction and hydrological modelling.
The text is interspersed with many problems, of which the solutions are given at the end of the book. Furthermore, each chapter contains many references to up-to-date literature.
Autoren-Porträt von Arnold F. Moene, Jos C. van Dam
Dr. Arnold F. Moene obtained his MSc in Meteorology at Wageningen University (WU) and his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology. As of 1998 he works at the Meteorology and Air Quality group of WU. His teaching is mainly focussed on introductory and advanced BSc courses. His research encompasses modelling and data-analysis land-atmosphere interactions, scalar transport in the atmospheric boundary-layer as well as the dynamics of the stable boundary-layer. He is author and co-author of more than 20 peer reviewed international scientific papers on micrometeorology and boundary-layer meteorology.Dr. Jos C. van Dam obtained his MSc and PhD at Wageningen University (WU). Since 1988 he works at the department Environmental Sciences of WU, where he lectures transport of water, solutes, heat and gases in top soils from BSc to PhD level. His research focuses on physical transport processes in soils and their interaction with vegetation. Van Dam is one of the main developers of the widely used ecohydrological model SWAP (Soil Water Atmosphere Plant). He is author and co-author of more than 50 peer reviewed international scientific publications on ecohydrology.
