STEVE MATTHEWMAN is Associate Professor in Sociology, Department of Sociology, University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is an established writer and co-editor, and has over 12 years' experience teaching introductory level sociology courses across various institutions in New Zealand.CATHERINE LANE WEST-NEWMAN is Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Department of Sociology, University of Auckland, New Zealand. She has over 17 years' experience of co-ordinating and delivering first year sociology courses and has enjoyed Visiting Professorships at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is the author of a number of book chapters and articles in the field of sociological studies.
BRUCE CURTIS is Senior Lecturer and Head of Department in Sociology at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has more that 12 years' experience of running and teaching a range of sociology and interdisciplinary undergraduate courses. He is Past President of the Sociological Association of Aotearoa New Zealand.
