David Mercy wurde in Washington D.C. geboren und studierte Filmwissenschaft an der UCLA. Er arbeitete als Journalist für Boulevard-Blätter und hatte verschiedene Jobs in der Filmbranche, bis er beschloss, alle fünf Kontinente der Erde zu bereisen zur Zeit ist er zusammen mit Jarle gerade am Nordpol unterwegs. David Mercy hat eine Wohnung in Los Angeles, ist aber selten zu Hause.
