The main aim of this study is to prepare and evaluate the bilayered tablet. Bilayer tablet is suitable for sequential release of two drugs in combination, separate two incompatible substances and also for sustained release tablet in which one layer is immediate release as initial dose and second layer is maintenance dose. Bilayer tablets have been developed to achieve controlled delivery of different drugs with pre defined release profiles. Two drugs used for i.e. antihyperlipedaemic drug is rosuvastatin and another is diltiazem as antihypertensive. This tablet will definitely throw a new limelight for researchers who are interested to design modified sustained release dosage form in a cost effective manner.
