This book covers some of the euphoric highs in his life as well as some of his worst personal tragedies, all of which have led him to believe that «big thoughts are free».

Mark Axelrod is Professor of Comparative Literature in the Department of English at Chapman University in Orange, California. A graduate of both Indiana University and the University of Minnesota, he has been the Director of the John Fowles Center for Creative Writing since 1997, for which he has received five National Endowment for the Arts grants. He has written over 135 volumes of prose, poetry, screenwriting, and non-fiction.
