Tymoczko ist Towsley-Professor für Biologie am Carleton College und unterrichtet dort Biochemie, Bioenergetik und Tumorbiologie. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Steroidrezeptoren, Ribonucleoproteinpartikel und proteolytische Enzyme.Lubert Stryer ist Winzer-Professor an der School of Medicine und Professor für Neurobiologie an der Stanford University. Seit 1984 ist er Mitglied der National Academy of Sciences der USA.
