Bioethics is a term used to describe the process of examining the ethics involved with the emerging medical technologies and biological research. Bioethics brings together the disciplines of medicine, law, philosophy and public policy on medical decisions. Hence, Bioethics is a multi-facet discipline that incorporates the use of several disciplines or fields analyzing the medical issues at hand in order to benefit humanity by making the desired decision. The range of issues considered to fall within the purview of bioethics varies depending on how broadly the fieldis defined. In one common usage, bioethics is more or less equivalent to medical ethics, or biomedical ethics. In this work, health is defined in the sense that being healthy should be viewed holistically

Eric Manu is a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He holds a Master's degree (MPhil) in Religious Studies. His area of specialization is Spirituality and health.
