** Purpose**

It provides a comprehensive look at aging, the diseases of old age, and the treatment of older persons, with the belief that each of these points of view informs and influences the others. The authors and editors have done a wonderful job in accomplishing these are extremely worthy objectives.

**Audience**

The audience includes both gerontologists and geriatricians, as well as primary care physicians and specialist physicians. Trainees in all these areas will also benefit greatly from this book.

**Assessment**

This book is utterly amazing. It weds gerontology and geriatric medicine unlike any other single textbook. It provides a uniform look at geriatrics that integrates the U.S., Canadian, and U.K. perspectives.
