The basic methodologies have been discussed with reference to zinc oxide. I have also discussed the growth of various types of ZnO nanostructures. The optical absorption, emission properties and related phenomenon have also been discussed. This will be very useful to the researchers working in the area of materials science and optoelectronic devices.
