China-Turkey Strategic Partnership in the Modern Period

The rapprochement of the China and Turkey, for the past decades, as a members of G20 and the UNSC, conditioned by a number of economic and political motives. China, as a permanent member of the UNSC, with its international influence and claims to gain superpower status, with powerful economic potential, huge dynamic East Asian market, and vast market for Turkish exports, attracts the attention of the Turkish leadership, seeking to strengthen the international position of Turkey both in the West and the East. The main issues, that were the subject of our research work, are following: China and Turkey before and after establishing of the diplomatic relations; the establishment and development of a strategic relationship of cooperation in 2010. Sino-Turkish military-industrial cooperation; the issue of Turkey's membership for Shanghai Cooperation Organization. China-Turkey cooperation in the fields of trade-economy; energy and modern transportation links development; the developmentof cooperation on joint infrastructure projects: the Silk Road; Sino-Turkish competition on the energy field, strategic reorientation and energy geo-economics.
