Autoren-Porträt von Ludovico Cademartiri, Geoffrey A. Ozin
Geoffrey A. Ozin studied chemistry at the Kings College University of London and at Oriel College, Oxford. He is Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, since 2001. He has made exceptionally important contributions to the fields of materials self-assembly, inorganic materials chemistry, biomimetics and nanochemistry. The significance of Professor Ozin's research has been recognized in various ways. He was awarded the Canadian Society of Chemistry E.W.R. Steacie 2002 CSC Award in Chemistry, the Royal Society of Chemistry 2002 RSC Award in Materials Chemistry and the Canadian Institute of Chemistry 2001 CIC Medal. Amongst his other honours are the Pure or Applied Inorganic Chemistry Award, the Rutherford Memorial Medal in Chemistry , the Alcan Award for Inorganic Chemistry, the Coblentz Memorial Prize for Molecular Spectroscopy, the Meldola Medal for Physical-Inorganic Chemistry. He serves on international editorial advisory board of journals, e.g. Advanced Materials and is an experienced book author. He has published more than 500 articles in refereed journal and about 10 US patents, many in different countries. His close ties with industry have resulted in numerous inventions and technology transfer. The impressive citation impact of his papers has helped place his published research in the top 100 and has put materials chemistry at the University of Toronto second globally after the Max Planck Institute for polymer materials.Ludovico Cademartiri studied at the University of Parma, Italy, and the University of Toronto, Canada. Currently he is postdoc in the group of Nobel prize winner George Whitesides. His research interests include nanocrystal chemistry, processing and self-assembly, contrast agents, mesoporous materials, photonic and quasicrystals. Despite his youth he already received the best student award in materials science in Parma, two Silver medals as Graduate Award of the Materials Reseach Society, Canada Research Chair Graduate Prize in
