This book examines contemporary issues in international economic law. In the ten chapters, each written by an expert in the respective field, the publication deals with several law and policy challenges ranging from the effective management of natural resources, prospects for the development of regional capital markets, the effective participation of less developed countries in the global economy, especially at WTO, to financial sector regulation, banking law, corporate law and knowledge economy linkages between intellectual property law and human rights. The book concludes with an insightful chapter on the nexus between intellectual property rightsand agriculture.

Dr. Kenneth Kaoma Mwenda is Senior Counsel in the Legal Vice-Presidency of the World Bank, Washington DC, USA. A Rhodes Scholar, the author is former Law Lecturer at the University of Warwick, UK. He has also served as Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Zambia and the University of Miskolc, Hungary. He holds, among other qualifications, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Zambia, a postgraduate Bachelor of Civil (BCL/MPhil) degree from Oxford University, UK, a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the University of Hull, UK, and a PhD in Corporate Law from the University of Warwick, UK. He has also received several academic awards from such esteemed institutions as Yale University Law School, USA. Victor Mosoti is Legal Officer at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy. He has previously served as Coordinator of the Africa Trade Program at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and at the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO), both in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Trade Law from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and a Specialization Certificate in International Trade Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA.
