Apparent plant latex contains a great variety of defense chemical and defense proteins in highly concentrated manner. Plant latex might be more useful for successful control of insect pest. Mulberry plant latex contains a great variety of defense chemicals and defense proteins in highly concentrated manner which is toxic to other lepidopteran herbivores but not to B. mori. Mulberry plant and silkworm created special interaction system called plant defense - insect adaptation. Thus, latex might be more useful for successful control of insect pest. The further studies, biological effects of latex components on herbivores might unravel the roles of latex components in plant defense against herbivore and may lead to the discovery of novel proteins or chemicals that could be utilized for plant protection against pests. To avoid poisoning of food chain and to stop the killing of non-target organisms.
