Daniel Pennac, 1944 in Casablanca geboren, hat lange als Lehrer gearbeitet. Pennac, der auch Kinder- und Jugendbücher veröffentlicht hat, lebt in Belville/Paris. Er erhielt 2008 den "Blue Metropolis International Literary Grand Prix Award".
