Gear design is a very complicated process. The manual method of gear design processes requires lots of time to design the optimized gear. After a design of the gear, the next task is the manufacturing of gear. Current researches are focus on tooth and root profile to improve performance but the convectional manufacturing technique unable to obtain the desire root profile as per design. To achieve the desired parameter for better performance it is necessary to use CNC for manufacturing a gear. The G code is very essential for manufacturing using a CNC machine. Currently, the industry uses CAD models and G code generation software to develop G code. It shows that lots of time, CAD software, G code generation software, operator, and design professionals are required to generate G code. Direct Gear Manufacturing system presents an innovative approach to develop a G code for symmetric and asymmetric involute spur gear without using CAD model and G code generation software. The system helps to select gear design parameters and material which is essential for good gear design and eliminates manual design calculation. Direct Gear Manufacturing saved lots of time to manufacture gear.
