Toxic and environmentally polluting synthetic dyes are being widely used in number of industries, including textiles, wall colours, paper, printing and foodstuff industries. Nevertheless, textiles and dye manufacturing industries are the major sources of environmental pollution. The present study has been carried out with the following aim and objectives.1) To prepare variety of activated carbon from Annanas cosmosus (L) leaves using different activation methods. 2) To apply various kinetic and isotherm models to analyze the applicability of the selected adsorbent for the removal of dyes from wastewater.
