Autoren-Porträt von Suleiman M. Sharkh
Dr Sharke is a senior lecturer in the Electromechanical Research Group at the University of Southampton in UK. He has 18 years research and teaching experience in electrical and electromagnetic systems including electric arc phenomena in switching devices, applied electrostatics, electrical machines, control systems and characterisation and management of advanced batteries. He is also the managing director of HiT Systems Ltd, which specialises in electromagnetic system analysis and design, control systems and web applications. In 2002 he was given the DTI SPARKS award for his work on electric machines for marine thrusters and tidal turbine generators. He was also the winner of The Engineer Energy Innovation and Technology Award that was presented at the Royal Society London in 2008. His research has led to the development of a number of commercial products. Dr Sharkh is a chartered engineer and member of the IET. He is also a member of the Technical Advisory Panel of the IET Power Generation, Conversion and Utilisation Panel. He was also a past committee member of the UK Magnetics Society. Dr Sharkh has taught many courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently he teaches Electrical Systems, Advanced Electrical Systems Automotive Propulsion.
