This paper investigates how the e-ID, that is, mainly the Swedish solution BankID, is perceived among the general public. Further, it takes a deeper look into three state issued documents that describes electronic identification, where the e-ID is described both as an enabler and as an obstacle, for instance to the elderly or people without a residence permit.
