Matt Hannafin is a freelance writer, editor, and musician based physically in Portland, Oregon, and spiritually in his hometown of New York, New York. Author of Frommer's Day by Day Vancouver & Whistler, he also writes the daily Cruise Blog and biweekly travel features for Frommers.com and freelances for various newspapers, magazines, and websites. He's written on topics ranging from speed traps and genealogical travel to minimalist art and the 2008-09 world financial crisis; provided writing and editing services for congressional candidates, global consulting firms, and UN agencies; and performed concerts of Persian classical music, Ukrainian and Sephardic folk music, and contemporary improvisation for audiences of 2 to 2,000. He's married to do-gooder lawyer and pianist Rebecca, is the father of ridiculously handsome and talented 2-year-old Malcolm, is best friends with an Irish terrier named Rooster, and is also good buds with mother-and-son felines Musetta and Puccini.Heidi Sarna is not a cat person, but loves dogs and people, especially her adorable twin sons and cute husband.
