Autoren-Porträt von David Halliday, Robert Resnick, Jearl Walker
Jearl Walker, geboren 1945, wurde durch sein Buch Flying Circus of Physics' (Der fliegende Zirkus der Physik) international bekannt. Er lehrt Physik an der Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA, wo er durch seine anschaulichen, berühmt-berüchtigten Physikdemonstrationen zu einem der beliebtesten Professoren wurde. 2005 erhielt er als Erster den "Outstanding Teaching Award" des Cleveland State College und wurde damit für seine beeindruckenden Beiträge zur Wissenschaftsvermittlung während der letzten 30 Jahre geehrt. Ihm zu Ehren wird der Preis in Zukunft den Namen "Jearl Walker Outstanding Teaching Award" tragen.
