Robert Trivers, geboren 1943 in Washington, D.C., ist ein US-amerikanischer Soziobiologe und Evolutionsbiologe. Er wurde bekannt durch das Konzept des "Reziproken Altruismus". Trivers ist Professor für Anthropologie und Biologie an der Rutgers University. Er ist maßgeblich an der Entwicklung der Theorie vom egoistischen Gen beteiligt.
